using front panel audio for my speakers which sounds way better than onboard audio at the back, the audio chipset on my entry level basic mobo totally sucks, which is a shame because i own very cheap case.

Hi guys! Haven't posted in a while, I guess I have been less focused on making upgrades to my PC, as there really wasn't any exciting hardware releases in a while.

That's all about to change, thanks to AMD, and hopefully to be followed by Nvidia soon.

Anyway, it's time I update my almost 2 year old PC, and today I got these new components:

Hope you guys like my choice of hardware, plan on gutting my current PC and installing these new components over the weekend, I'll keep you guys posted.

Please let me know what you think about the components I picked.

Congrats!

Only feedback is to keep in mind that 16GBx4 might take some tinkering to get stable. 32GBx2 are a bit easier.

Got it! Same with my current PC, I had to downclock my RAM from 6800MHz to 6400MHz when I installed an extra 32GB of memory.

I'll be sure asking for your advice soon, this is my first AMD system ever! I'm very excited and looking forward to the challenge :toast:

I changed back to old B450M S2H because I don't like the M.2 underneath the PCIe X16 slot, it gets warm at 50+ celsius. On this board it's 45C while playing Cyberpunk.

Looks nice, though a little velcro-tie (or zipties) work would improve even more. :)

I will today, I done that near midnight yesterday I just testing whether it will boot or not. I kinda paranoid if I done things well first time it will have problems lol

Nice upgrade! Enjoy building it.

I've just got my perfect settings for memory timings and stuff through the video below. But I'm using the 7800x3d so it probably works differently.

Thank you! I'll try following your guidelines! This new kit came with 6000MHz Corsair vengeance memory, at CAS 36, and expo support.

My current PC has 6800MHz G.Skill memory at CAS 34, currently running at 6400MHz and CAS 32 for stability, but only XMP support, both kits are 16GBx4.

Which memory do you think would would better for this new PC? Can I manually set the XMP memory to expo timings?

Thank you all!

EDIT: started your video, it's super informative, thank you so much for sharing, first order of business is finding out if any of my RAM kits are single rank.

Here's mine ( after month of fighting with the sata card)
I genuinely think that i made a good cable management with all those drives.

If my eyes are working correctly and the device that took the photo also do, then your ATX24-pin cable is not seated correctly (the 20 part of the 20+4)

those fans beside gpu and psu

Did minus 15c on the gpu
and here i am using a terrible airflow case which makes even a 1050 ti reach 80c at full load. remind you, it's mini variant with no supplementary power connector.

Before upgrading my PC and after, new AiO 360 and 140 fans from Thermaltake, currently waiting for the availability of 9800x3d in my country and in the near future something like 5080/90 but I have to wait for official prices.

In progress workstation pc, don't know if this motherboard and CPU still works (i5 8600k, z370 taichi), if it doesn't then its gonna get upgraded I guess. The case (Silverstone RM42) is the most expensive thing about it LOL. Really love this case so far though, and it could easily have a lot more HDD added in front if one felt like modding a bay on.
