Z790 Asrock NOVA - Memory and Flash Bios Option

1. ASRock didn't put BIOS flashback on any Z790 mobos because they were the last of the LGA 1700 socket series. I was told this on the telephone by their tech support. I suspect they actually did it to save money making the boards.

2. That RAM will likely work. Unlike G.Skill, Corsair doesn't list their own QVL for various mobos anymore. Personally I use G.Skill because I've never had any issues with their RAM and I have with Corsair.

If you're in the USA you can call ASRock at 909-590-8308 and ask their tech support if they know.

DDR5-6800 isnt a guaranteed for dual-rank memory. The Motherboard can do DDR5-8000 single-rank with high voltages applied, but isn't what your buying. I would stick to 6400 and save yourself a major headache.

There is no guarantee you will get a good CPU and contrary to what people say, memory brand generally does not matter as much. It's all about price and warranty these days. G.Skill vs Corsair at 6800 will have the same outcome.

Hello friends @bobbybluz and @ir_cow thanks alot for help!

Your tips were very useful, I'm still deciding which motherboard to buy for the my new 14th CPU

About the memory, at first I was going to buy this Corsair model because it's CL30 and has 6800 at a more affordable price, the others available in my area are more expensive and even inferior in specifications...

PS: I have other motherboard options like the MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI and the Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Master X, do you know these models? What can I say? Is it worth replacing the ASRock with something else?

but it's been a long time since I used a Gigabyte MB, my last one (which broke, by the way) was a Gigabyte from an old P4 HT in the 2000s...

I already have two ASRock MBs, one over 15 years old and the other Z97 Extreme6 (NAS Server) and both are perfect to this day.

If you already bought a motherboard, no reason to swap to another brand. Both those others have pro and cons.

I still suggest sticking with DDR5-6400 if you plan on 64GB/96GB.

I have three ASRock Z690 and two Z790 Steel Legend Wifi rigs. No issues with any of them. The Z690's have 64GB of DDR4 3600, one Z790 has 96GB of DDR5 6400 and the other 64GB of DDR5 6400. The Z690 Steel Legend WiFi can be bought for less than $150 USD today and the Z790 for less than $175 (I saw those prices online last week) All have G.Skill RAM; the 64GB 6400 uses SK hynix A-die and the 96GB uses M-die.

I use what works in my builds and have had great luck with ASRock/ G.Skill going back to the Z77 days for Intel and 990 FX for AMD.

Thanks for tips my friend, i dont bought it yet, but since I've been using and really liking ASRock's qualities, it was my first choice, you know...

About the memory, could you tell me if this DDR5-6800 module could work on 6400 without any problems? The question is that my ASRock Extreme6 Z97 that I use to connect old HDDs (Server) has G.Skill memories and back then, it was something simple, just turn on the XMP and that was it... Today I don't know if it has changed, because watching some videos, I could see that the XMP of some boards allows you to select the Transfer Speeds.

I'll look further to see if there's a Kingston or XPG/Teamgroup meeting, unfortunately G.Skill isn't available in my location =/

Hello friend, true, I only have praise for ASRock, they last much longer, this Z97 Extreme6 that I mentioned, it basically works 16 hours a day since 2014

And it also has G.Skill Trident X DDR3-2400 16GB memories, perfect too, almost no BSODs over these 10 years, but unfortunately I think G.Skill no longer brings products to my location =/

The ones that exist are imports with very high prices :(
