UK Game Developers add in-game Lockdown Messages

A consortium of UK game development studios have partnered with the UK government to promote safe Coronavirus lockdown measures. Activision Blizzard, Codemasters and Rebellion will work with the UK Government to feature messaging from Public Health England's 'Stay Home Save Lives' campaign in their games.

The first of these additions can be seen in Dirt Rally 2.0 where the 'Stay Home Save Lives' message is featured prominently on the in-game banners at the start of the track. The government hopes that by placing these ads, young people will follow the lockdown instructions.

Codemasters Reveal DiRT Rally 2.0 Season Two Content

Codemasters on 17th of May revealed the DiRT Rally 2.0 Season Two DLC will launch on June 4th 2019. New content, comprising of cars, liveries and environments, will be made available every two weeks with a primary focus on rallycross. Traditional rally fans can also enjoy a new location with the return of Wales and the Porsche 911 SC RS.

Debuted in DiRT 4, Group B rallycross cars are celebrated in Season Two with the inclusion of the Peugeot 205 T16 Rallycross, Ford RS200 Evolution, Lancia Delta S4 Rallycross and the MG Metro 6R4 Rallycross. With improved handling and graphical overhaul, the four vehicles will be a welcome addition when they are put through their paces on all rallycross circuits including the two brand new tracks, Bikernieki, Latvia and Estering, Germany. The new tracks are available weeks three and 11 respectively.

Codemasters Announces Dirt Rally 2.0 for February 26 2019, Releases Trailer

Codemasters today announced the year-away release of their next Dirt game. Dirt Rally 2.0 will be available in February 26th 2019, and aims to keep up with Codemaster's tradition of being one of the relevant racing-games developers in the world, alongside their annual F1 releases.

The company has announced that the game will have six rally locations (New Zealand, Argentina, Spain, Poland, Australia and the USA, in 8 of the WRX circuits) and a smattering of classic and modern cars with their distinct handling profiles for your racer's heart to feel contented with. There will be seasons of post-launch content, which will be paid, and there's a Deluxe Edition of the game which will include the first initial seasons. You can catch the trailer after the break.
