NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti Detailed?

How far can you strip down a GK104? Very far. Reports from the Chinese press and the whirring rumor mill there speaks of a new mid-range graphics card SKU taking shape at NVIDIA, named GeForce GTX 750 Ti, which is being designed to succeed the GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost, outperform the GeForce GTX 660, and become NVIDIA's posterboy for this year's AAA shooter releases - Call of Duty: Ghosts, and Battlefield 4, when the company expects a tiny spike in GPU sales.

Based on the same G92 GK104 silicon as several other 600- and 700-series GeForce GTX products, the GTX 750 Ti will be configured a notch above the GK106-based GeForce GTX 660. To begin with, it's expected to feature 960 CUDA cores, a notch below the 1152 cores on the GeForce GTX 760. It has the same 80 TMUs as the GTX 660, but 32 ROPs and a 256-bit wide memory interface (compared to 24 ROPs and 192-bit on the GTX 660). Clock speeds are expected to be higher, too, at 1033 MHz core, 1098 MHz GPU Boost, and 6.00 GHz (GDDR5-effective) memory. There's no clarity on when exactly NVIDIA plans to launch the SKU, but we expect that to happen before AMD's late-September high-end extravaganza.

Inno3D Rolls Out GeForce GTX 760 iChill HerculeZ 3000

Inno3D rolled out its fourth GeForce GTX 760 board design, apart from the reference-design card, the HerculeZ OC, and the HerculeZ 2000. The new GTX 760 iChill HerculeZ 3000 is based on the same exact board as the company's GeForce GTX 770 iChill HerculeZ 3000, with a meaty 7-phase VRM, an 8-layer PCB, and the large triple-fan HerculeZ 3000 cooling solution with a backplate. Apart from the GPU, the only physical difference between the two cards, is the power inputs. This card uses just a pair of 6-pin connectors, while the GTX 770 iChill HerculeZ 3000 relies on a combination of 8-pin and 6-pin connectors.

The GeForce GTX 760 iChill HerculeZ 3000 uses a PCB heavily based on NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 680 reference design, with a 5+2 phase VRM. It gives you out of the box clock speeds of 1060 MHz core, 1124 MHz GPU Boost, and 6.20 GHz (GDDR5-effective) memory, compared to NVIDIA-reference clocks of 980 MHz core, 1033 MHz GPU Boost, and 6.00 GHz memory. The card features 2 GB of memory. Its cooler uses two large aluminum fin stacks that dissipate heat from the GPU, drawn by five heat pipes; and ventilated by a trio of 80 mm fans. The fans are suspended on a die-cast metal shroud that's easily detachable by pulling out a few thumb-screws, to clean the fans and underlying heatsinks. Although there's nothing to cool on the reverse side of the PCB, Inno3D dropped in a back-plate anyway. Inno3D didn't reveal global launch plans, but in China, the card should retail for 1,799 RMB (US $294).

Colorful Announces a Pair of GeForce GTX 760 Graphics Cards

Colorful announced a pair of GeForce GTX 760 graphics cards. Its recent tie-up with Chaintech appears to have sobered the company up a little, which offered two graphics cards that don't quite appear to be over the top, but designed to sell by the bunch. First up, Colorful unveiled a reference-design card of a different kind. While NVIDIA's reference GTX 760 is based on the same PCB as a GTX 670, and the same cooler as a GTX 660; Colorful's take on the reference is taking advantage of the pin-compatibility of GeForce GTX 760 with the GTX 680, and placing it on a GeForce GTX 680 reference PCB, with reference GTX 680 cooling solution. It goes a notch further, by enabling all five NVVDC phases instead of four on NVIDIA's retail GTX 680 cards. This card sticks to reference clock speeds of 980 MHz core, 1033 MHz GPU Boost, and 6.00 GHz memory.

Moving on, Colorful's premium GTX 760 offering is the iGame GTX 760 Ymir-U. It features a high-performance cooling solution that takes advantage of a dense silver-plated aluminum fin-stack, a combination of 8 mm and 6 mm-thick heat pipes, and a pair of 90 mm fans. The underlying PCB features a strong 8 phase VRM, and dual-BIOS that's switchable at the push of a button. The first BIOS runs the card at reference clock speeds; while the second one runs it overclocked, at 1019 MHz core, 1072 MHz GPU Boost, and 6.00 GHz memory. As with most Colorful cards, the company will begin selling the cards in the Greater China region first; and then move on to the rest of the continent, and neighboring Europe.

Inno3D Announces Trio of GeForce GTX 760 Graphics Cards

Inno3D dropped its hat into the GeForce GTX 760 ring with three offerings, the NVIDIA reference-design base-model; the HerculeZ OC 2 GB; and the HerculeZ 2000 4 GB (pictured in that order). The base model is practically identical to NVIDIA's reference design, except its PCB is colored blue. It sticks to NVIDIA-reference clock speeds of 980 MHz core, 1033 MHz GPU Boost, and 6.00 GHz memory. This card will likely sell at the baseline price of $249.99.

Moving on, the HerculeZ OC 2 GB uses a slightly compacted variant of the HerculeZ 2000 dual-fan cooler. It still gets you the easy-to-remove metal cooler shroud by turning a few thumb-screws, giving you access to the GPU heatsink underneath. This card features 2 GB of memory, and factory-overclocked speeds of 1006 MHz core and 1059 MHz GPU Boost, while leaving the memory clock untouched. This card could command a $10-20 premium. Lastly, there's the HerculeZ 2000 4 GB. This card features the same HerculeZ 2000 dual-fan cooler and PCB as the one found on Inno3D's GeForce GTX 770 OC graphics card. It offers the same clock speeds as the HerculeZ OC 2 GB, but with double the memory amount, at 4 GB. Given its memory amount and premium cooling, we won't be surprised if it pole-vaults the $300 mark.
