NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, announced today the 23-inch MultiSync EA232WMi, a 16:9 model designed for corporate, financial, healthcare, engineering, CAD and other professional applications.

Replacing the popular MultiSync EA231WMi, the new MultiSync EA232WMi maintains an IPS panel for superior color, viewing angles and image quality. Additionally, it adds LED-backlit technology, which provides more energy efficiency and less power consumption, heat and carbon dioxide emissions. The display's ambient light sensor and ECO Mode can further help save energy and prolong product life.

NEC is readying a new addition to its MultiSync IPS monitor series, the PA301W. This 30-inch monitor sports a native resolution of 2560 x 1600, and is best suited for graphics professional use, as it features a 10-bit IPS panel, built-in 14-bit LUT, 107% Adobe RGB coverage, 1000:1 static contrast ratio, and 6 ms response time. It features standard CCFL-illumination with 350 cd/m² brightness. Backed by a 3-year warranty, the MultiSync PA301W is expected to cost €2259.

LG Display, a leading innovator of TFT-LCD technology, announced today that it has launched the 23-inch 240Hz LCD for monitors (dual monitor and TV use) that refreshes at a rate of 240 frames per second to deliver clear picture quality with no ghosting effect.

The industry have been engaged in a heated race to improve the motion picture response time (MPRT), unveiling products with refresh rates of 120Hz or 240Hz which are respectively twice and four times as fast as broadcast signals (60Hz). However, the technology has mostly been applied to LCD panels for high-end TV panels that are 40-inch or larger. This is the first time that 240Hz technology was applied in a 23-inch product under mass production.

Mitsubishi introduced the VISEO MDT231WG, one of the first 120 Hz monitors that make use of an IPS panel for better image quality. Further, it makes use of LED-backlit illumination for great viewing angles. This 23-inch panel provides full-HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 5.5 ms response time, 350 cd/m² maximum brightness, and contrast ratios of 900:1 CRO, 5,000:1 DCR.

Features are a plenty, there's a 2.1 speaker set with 2x 3W stereo and 5W sub-woofer, Mitsubishi MPIII and GIGA Clear II image engine that work to enhance image quality, and connectivity that includes D5 digital port, S-Video, component, D-SUB, DVI-D, analog audio in/out and digital optical. LaCie today announced the latest addition to its line of professional displays, the LaCie 324i - featuring a 10-bit P-IPS LCD panel. At the IFA event in Berlin, LG introduced four new LED-backlit monitors with IPS technology, of which one is intended to be of professional-grade. The LG IPS2062T, IPS226V, IPS236V and IPS231P are sized at 20", 21.5", 23" and 23", respectively. With the exception of the IPS2062T (which has a resolution of 1600 x 900), all are full-HD (1920 x 1080) ready. All four models have dynamic contrast ratios rated at 5,000,000:1; brightness of 250 cd/m²; and response time of 6 ms. Maximum viewing angles measure at 178°/178°.

While the IPS2062T takes in DVI and D-Sub inputs, IPS226V, IPS236V take DVI, D-Sub and HDMI, the IPS231P lacks HDMI, but has stereo speakers and takes audio in. Another feature that sets the IPS231P apart from the other models is its stand that allows you to adjust its height (by up to 11 cm), tilt, swivel, pivot. LG did not give out pricing and availability details.

NEC is preparing a new professional-grade 27-inch LCD monitor called MultiSync Reference 271. The 271 uses a 10-bit P-IPS panel that give 98% Adobe RGB coverage, for a wide color gamut. The panel has a wide viewing angle of 178 degrees. Its frame design enables pivot at swivel adjustments.

The panel has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 (aspect ratio 16:9), with 5 ms response time. Its static contrast ratio is 1000:1, with a maximum brightness of 360 cd/m². It takes input from D-Sub (analog) and DVI-D or dual DVI. Backed by a 3-year warranty, the MultiSync Reference 271 is up for pre-order for under 1800 EUR.

Dell today announced the availability of the UltraSharp U2211H and U2311H flat panel monitors with in-plane switching technology (IPS) to deliver consistent colours across wide viewing angles for growing businesses, knowledge workers and photography buffs who need superior colour reproduction in their work or leisure activities.
