LenovoEMC Rebrands Iomega Products and Programs Worldwide

LenovoEMC Ltd, a joint venture between industry-leaders Lenovo and EMC that includes the Iomega network storage product business, today announced the rebranding of Iomega products and programs worldwide, emphasizing the identity of this transformative joint venture and laying the foundation for new product and partnership announcements, beginning with a new Acronis agreement to provide PC backup software for select Lenovo network storage products.

Effective immediately, the former Iomega-branded network storage products are available worldwide with new branding that reflects the LenovoEMC business while continuing to utilize the Iomega mark on entry-level consumer network storage products. EMC to Acquire Iomega

EMC Corporation, world leader in information infrastructure solutions, and Iomega Corporation, best known with its ZIP drive, are joining forces in a definitive agreement for EMC to acquire San Diego-based Iomega in a cash tender offer of $3.85 per outstanding share, or approximately $213 million. The addition of Iomega's products, brand name, route to market and industry expertise will enhance EMC's reach and focus in the rapidly-growing consumer and small business markets. Upon completion of the acquisition, Iomega will serve as the core of EMC's new Consumer/Small Business Products Division. The new division (led by Jonathan Huberman and reporting to Joel Schwartz, Senior Vice President and General Manager, EMC Storage Platforms) will also include EMC Retrospect and EMC LifeLine software. Iomega Enters Definitive Agreement to Acquire ExcelStor Group

Iomega Corporation today announced that it has entered into a definitive share purchase agreement to acquire ExcelStor Great Wall Technology Limited, a Cayman Islands company, and Shenzhen ExcelStor Technology Limited, a PRC company (collectively, with their subsidiaries, "ExcelStor"). Iomega will issue approximately 84 million shares of common stock in Iomega in exchange for all outstanding ExcelStor common shares, representing in the aggregate 60% of the fully diluted capitalization of Iomega, to be measured as of the closing date. The Boards of Directors of both Iomega and ExcelStor have unanimously approved the share purchase agreement.

Iomega's new Power Pro Desktop Hard Drive, offers 2TB of space powered by four hot-swappable SATA hard drives with hardware-based RAID security features, giving users a cost-effective but powerful storage solution for the large data and image files created in today's business environment.
