Adaptec Announces Highest Port-Count PCI-Express 3.0 RAID HBA

The Adaptec Series 7 family represents the first RAID adapters to take full advantage of PCIe Gen3 bandwidth, providing unmatched performance for a broad range of enterprise and cloud computing applications. With 16 direct-connected solid state drives (SSDs), Series 7 adapters can deliver up to 450,000 input/output operations per second (IOPS) on a 4K random read block size, equivalent to nearly 10x the performance of previous-generation RAID adapters.

Intel and LSI Announce Expanded SAS/SATA RAID Agreement for Intel Products

Intel Corporation and LSI Corporation today announced a multigenerational SAS/SATA RAID agreement to broaden the worldwide availability of LSI RAID-On-Chip (ROC) and MegaRAID solutions for Intel's worldwide channel network. Intel has selected LSI to supply 3 and 6Gb/s solutions for server and workstation products. The two companies have collaborated since 2003, and under this expanded agreement Intel will make available to its channel customers a wider range of SAS/SATA RAID products for Intel servers and workstations.
