This model in question comes with an Intel Core i7-8850H six-core processor based on the Coffee Lake architecture. This processor operates at 2.6 GHz with the ability to boost up to 4 GHz on all six cores. It also possesses 9 MB of L3 cache. MSI Announces Optix MPG27C Monitor with PrismSync

MSI and SteelSeries are proud to announce that thanks to their long-standing technology partnership, the newly launched Optix MPG series curved gaming monitors are now supported by SteelSeries Engine. Using the five RGB zones on the front of the monitor, gamers can easily program lighting effects in the SteelSeries Engine to notify them of in-game timers, stats, cooldowns or even Discord notifications.

Joseph Hsu MSI President said: "The integration of SteelSeries Engine with the Optix MPG Series Curved Gaming Monitors brings PrismSync Illumination and real-time game alerts which offer an even greater level of immersive gameplay." "MSI and SteelSeries are delivering a truly immersive experience to gamers," said SteelSeries CEO, Ehtisham Rabbani said, "SteelSeries is proud of the strong partnership that we continue to build with MSI and we are excited to bring the gaming community new types of immersive technology like this."

MSI Intros the OPTIX MPG27CQ Monitor: 27", WQHD, 144 Hz, 1800R, VA Panel

MSI has added another monitor to its OPTIX lineup, in the form of the OPTIX MPG27CQ monitor. This one sports a VA-type 27" panel, which delivers its images in a crisp, WQHD (2560 x 1440) resolution. The usage of a VA panel means this monitor is able to deliver up to 144 Hz refresh rates with a 1 ms response time and 178/178 viewing angles, while sRGB and NTSC coverage stand at 115% and 100%, respectively.

Another thing to note is the monitor's rated brightness: at 400 cd/m², it isn't the best we've seen, but at least it holds its maximum brightness honorably, without adding any HDR-capable gimmicks, even though it's much more capable of that than some other monitors that have been recently announced. One of the more interesting thinks about this monitor, however, is the inclusion of SteelSeries' Game Sense technology, which should allow the bottom bezel led strips to react to your gaming conditions, such as ammo count, health, and other factors. Additionally for gamers, there's support for Adaptive Sync tech to smooth out the frame-rate and avoid tearing.

This technology removes all possibility of jitter and cursor disparity on liftoff movements and offers the lowest lift-off distance in the market.

"This is a breakthrough in gaming mouse sensor technology," said SteelSeries CEO, Ehtisham Rabbani. "We took a massive leap forward in sensor innovation with Pixart with the TrueMove3 sensor in the Rival 310 and Sensei 310. Now we're taking that innovation even further by combining the true 1-to-1 tracking of the TrueMove3 with a second optical sensor for precision. It's the only dual optical sensor system in the world that can offer this level of precision and accuracy of movement."

MSI and SteelSeries Partner in Lighting Up Your World - Sync RGB

It would seem like companies MSI and SteelSeries are reaching a somewhat strategic partnership when it comes to lighting up your PC and peripherals of choice. As you are all well aware, most companies now offer products with RGB lighting, from motherboards to AIOs and RAM. We covered SteelSeries' own QcK Prism mouse mat some days ago, and you would think the folks at MSI were impressed by SteelSeries' RGB "savoir-faire."

MSI is allowing you to control LED lighting on only one of their motherboards for now - the Z270 Gaming Pro Carbon. This looks like a tentative partnership, for now, but could soon be expanded to more RGB-equipped MSI motherboards. SteelSeries' Engine 3 (SSE3) is the application, developed by SteelSeries, that will allow you to sync your motherboard's lighting with that of your other SteelSeries peripherals, ensuring a single "LED lighting language" across your desk space. The two main lighting features of SSE3 are PrismSync and GameSense. PrismSync controls all the lighting effects in the usual "choose your own color" metric, while GameSense dynamically adjusts lighting effects according to what's happening on your games of choice, like syncing colors to your in-game health or other metrics. This is yet another step towards the integration of LED lighting in our daily computing lives. At least now you can control all LED lighting from different manufacturers (well, just two manufacturers, really) through a single application. Exciting times.

SteelSeries Announces the QcK Prism Mouse Mat - 360º RGB Illumination

If you've ever wondered if you could get even more bling for your wrist area, and an RGB-crazed playground for your hairless rodent of choice, you need not look any further. SteelSeries has just announced availability of their QcK Prism mouse mat, which offers a psychedelic 360º of RGB illumination. All of this is powered by USB, but we do have an abundance of those on the back of our rigs (and in some of our monitors as well.)

This is achieved by a total of 12 separate, RGB-lighted zones, which integrate a 356.71 x 292.4 mm area (with 8.68 mm height.) The mouse sports a dual-sided, reversible design, with premium micro-textured cloth on one side (for added friction) and a hard polymer surface for faster gliding movements on the other. Users can just flip the side they want on top, laying it over the RGB-illuminated base to play with the surface resistance type that they prefer. It is also controllable via the SteelSeries Engine software and supports SteelSeries GameSense which will allow the QcK Prism to react to in-game events such as low ammo, health, kills, cooldown timers and more. Interestingly, SteelSeries pits its QcK directly against Razer's Firefly (I really like the "intuitive cable placement" selling point.) The SteelSeries QcK will be available to light your world for $59.99, or a murderous 75€.

MSI Also Announces the GP62X GP72X Leopard Pro Gaming Notebooks

MSI, a world leader in gaming hardware, continues to innovate its critically-acclaimed gaming laptops with the announcement of the new GP62X GP72X Leopard series. MSI continues to redefine gaming performance in a portable gaming laptop with a 120Hz 5ms screen, a NVMe M.2 solid state drive that breaks the current bandwidth limitation, and updated SteelSeries RGB keyboard with Silver Lining print.

Screen tearing and jitters are a thing of the past with the all new full HD 120 Hz panel with 5ms response time. The ultra-fast refresh rate lets you react instantly to your game, giving you a true MSI gaming experience. The GP62X and GP72X Leopard series gaming laptops use a NVMe solid state drive so gamers can experience full performance potential of the latest SSD technology with extreme read speeds up to 2,200MB/s. The line includes an Intel 7th Generation KabyLake processor, one stick of 16GB DDR4 RAM (upgradeable to 32GB) and up to a GeForce GTX1060 graphics card.
