Hello Games Introduces No Man's Sky: RELICS Update

Following hot on the heels of the massive Worlds Part II update back in January which introduced a whole range of visual enhancements, gameplay additions and quality of life improvements to No Man's Sky, the team have let their imaginations run wild on something whimsical but remarkably transformative for what is possibly our most surprising update yet. We're calling it Relics, and it is available to download for PC, console and VR free to existing players from today. Since launch, because of the way that No Man's Sky's planetary terrain works, players have enjoyed being able to dig down through the earth to find buried technologies or other valuable items hidden beneath their feet. From today, players will start to find a whole new category of palaeontological finds—the skeletal remains of alien creatures which used to inhabit these worlds. So, terrain manipulators at the ready!

Just as the living creatures which continue to populate the star systems, there is a huge variety of prehistoric bones, in all shapes and sizes, to excavate and collect. It's up to you how you reassemble them and there's a lot of fun to be had building ever-more outrageous skeletons to put on display in your bases-turned-museums or share with your fellow Travellers. Much like with the aquatic life from the Aquarius expedition from last year, the skulls and bones out there to be discovered vary hugely in rarity so you never quite know what you're going to unearth. The most uncommon finds hold huge value and can be bartered with at the Space Station. To coincide with Relics, a tailor-made community expedition starts shortly which challenges players to compete for the rarest finds.

Ubisoft Explores the History of Feudal Japan in Assassin's Creed Shadows

Assassin's Creed Shadows, launching on March 20, will continue the series' tradition of bringing players closer to history with a section of its database titled "Cultural Discovery." As part of the in-game Codex, this feature offers players carefully selected encyclopedic entries on the history, art, and culture of the Azuchi-Momoyama period. This cultural encyclopedia was written by historians and includes images from museums and institutions. Similar to the History of Baghdad feature in Assassin's Creed Mirage, Cultural Discovery will be integrated into the main game of Assassin's Creed Shadows, and is tied to player progression. Cultural Discovery contains almost two times as many entries as the History of Baghdad, with more than 125 entries at launch, and more to come.

As players visit sites that provide a historical and cultural exploration of 16th-century Japan, they will unlock articles on the economy, castles, military affairs, daily life, historical figures, and events. One notable cultural codex entry, shown above, features an exclusive replica of a Kabuto, or Japanese war helmet, that symbolizes the first contact between Japan and Spain. The original Kabuto is part of one of the oldest collections of Japanese armor in Europe, and is kept at the Royal Armory in Madrid. This Kabuto had been almost entirely damaged during the fire suffered by the Royal Armory on July 10, 1884. Ubisoft, Patrimonio Nacional, and Spanish company Factum Arte joined forces to recover what was left of this Feudal Japan relic, create a faithful physical reconstruction of it, and make it accessible to people around the world through its inclusion in Assassin's Creed Shadows. The physical replica from Factum Arte will become part of the Royal Armory of Madrid's collection.

Eydigard places players in the role of shapeshifters in 16th-century Northern Norway, blending authentic Norwegian and Sámi folklore with dynamic action RPG gameplay. Chernobylite 2: Exclusion Zone Launches Early Access on Steam

Chernobylite 2 is our dream project. After more than 10 years of various activities related to Chornobyl and dozens of visits to this place, we can finally share the massive part of what we consider the ultimate Chornobyl experience. What started with VR documentaries and low-scale indie projects has become a fully-fledged RPG game, playable in the open world, with hundreds of ways to craft your own character and story.
Entering the world of Chernobylite 2, even in Early Access, you can expect to double or triple the time spent with the first game - not just because the Zone itself is about 20 times bigger this time but also thanks to the number of quests, events, encounters, and gameplay mechanics. On top of it, you can play from two different perspectives - first person or third person- which is possible thanks to the success of our recently finished Kickstarter campaign.

Our goal was to deliver the Early Access version, which is very advanced and polished in most parts. According to many closed playtests and our demo reception, most of the gameplay mechanics and big chunks of the content are already polished. Early Access contains about 30-40% of the final scope of the world and story. Most weapons and players' equipment parts are already present in the game as lootable elements.

Saber Interactive Addresses RoadCraft Demo Performance & Gameplay Issues

Hello everyone, RoadCraft's demo has been rolling for the past week, and seeing so many of you give a try to our game filled us with joy! Thousands of you downloaded and tried out the demo and you covered altogether more than 2 billion km on the demo, which is absolutely awesome! We've custom-made this demo to give you a sample of the gameplay and vehicles, but be assured that you're far from having seen everything! Now, we are focused on carefully reading your feedback, and we want to address some of them before we release the full game on May 20th.

First, the elephant in the room, the absence of fuel consumption
We know that fuel consumption is a core element in SnowRunner or Expeditions. But RoadCraft is a totally new experience for us, in the simulation field. It has been developed on a new iteration of our engine, and its technical specifications differ from those of our other games. For those reasons, it doesn't offer the same gameplay features. Map exploration and traversal is not as central, rebuilding and reshaping terrain are. When we started the development, we initially had a fuel consumption system, however this mechanic was tedious and didn't bring anything interesting to the core gameplay of the game. However, it doesn't mean we want to throw away the idea without any reflection, and especially after seeing all your feedback on it. We might think about integrating fuel consumption, but later on, in a new game mode for example.

The Lonesome Guild Unveiled at ID@Xbox February Event

At Tiny Bull Studios, we wanted to create a game that reflects the deep human need for connection, which emphasizes the power of friendship and collaboration in overcoming adversity. While combat and exploration are key elements of The Lonesome Guild, the game places relationships at the heart of its experience. Making a game about friendship and connection is very important to us. The Lonesome Guild was conceived in 2020, which was a period of isolation for a lot of us. It highlighted how much loneliness can affect mental health, relationships, and even self-identity. We saw an opportunity to create a game that doesn't just entertain but inspires people to reflect on the importance of reaching out, supporting others, and ultimately finding strength in companionship.

We believe that what truly sets our game apart from other ARPGs is its unique relationship system, which directly impacts gameplay. Instead of characters being mechanically interchangeable, the bond between them shapes their abilities, interactions, and progression—so you won't just assemble your party for their skills, but you'll nurture them and unlock new powers and quests based on their emotional growth.

Xbox Introduces Muse: a Generative AI Model for Gameplay

In nearly every corner of our lives, the buzz about AI is impossible to ignore. It's destined to revolutionize how we work, learn, and play. For those of us immersed in the world of gaming—whether as players or creators—the question isn't just how AI will change the game, but how it will ignite new possibilities.

At Xbox, we're all about using AI to make things better (and more fun!) for players and game creators. We want to bring more games to more people around the world and always stay true to the creative vision and artistry of game developers. We believe generative AI can boost this creativity and open up new possibilities. We're excited to announce a generative AI breakthrough, published today in the journal Nature and announced by Microsoft Research, that shows this potential to open up new possibilities—including the opportunity to make older games accessible to future generations of players across new devices and in new ways.

Directive 8020 Launches on October 2, Supermassive Discusses Gameplay Elements

Welcome to the mission! Hi, I'm Will Doyle, the director of Directive 8020 at Supermassive Games. We revealed our action-packed story trailer during State of Play, and announced that the game will launch on October 2. I'm thrilled to take you deeper into the dangers that you'll face onboard the Cassiopeia. The team at Supermassive Games has worked tirelessly to craft a narrative experience that melds sci-fi exploration with spine-chilling horror, where every choice could lead to a disastrous death. We're unveiling some new layers to our story, exploring fragile alliances, unseen threats, and the limits of human resilience when faced with our deepest fears. We're venturing into uncharted territory: the unsettling abyss of space.

A deadly mission
Earth is dying, and humankind is seeking a new home in the stars. The Cassiopeia is the initial survey ship sent to scout our chosen planet. Think of it as a test run: the Cassiopeia is fully outfitted as a colony craft but is flying with a vastly reduced crew. Their mission is to test every procedure onboard without ever touching down on the planet they've been sent to orbit. However, people familiar with our games will know that our characters never have it easy and in Directive 8020 it will all start to go wrong very quickly and with very deadly consequences.

Rebellion Discusses Atomfall's Unique Gameplay Mechanics

With Atomfall coming to PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Game Pass in just over a month (arriving on March 27), today we released the latest trailer for the game. Featuring -new gameplay, the trailer highlights the main features that you will experience when you enter the quarantine zone. I thought now would be a good time to give you more information on some of the game's key features and what you can expect when you play Atomfall. The trailer (see below) starts at the very beginning of the game. You wake up in a dark and eerie bunker and are met by a wounded man in a hazmat suit who immediately asks who you are and asks for your help. The problem is you don't know who you are, or how you got there. He tells you that you are inside a quarantine zone, built around the Windscale Atom plant following a nuclear disaster.

Set in the luscious British countryside in 1962, Atomfall is a fictionalized telling of what happened five years after true events in Northern England. It is a game about investigation and discovery—as you try to uncover the mystery behind what really happened at Windscale, but also who you are and what you're doing there. There is plenty to explore beyond the rolling hills of Cumberland, including a picturesque village, bandit camps, caves, tunnels, and mysterious buildings and facilities left abandoned by the British Atomic Research Division. All of these will hold their own secrets for you to discover. You will find clues about what has happened and learn more about the colorful characters you meet along the way - but there is no clear single "truth", and different people interpret what happened in different ways. This feeds into the game's "Leads" system, our new take on traditional gaming quests.

Elroy and the Aliens Makes Contact with Steam Next Fest

Fire up your rockets and journey back to the golden age of adventure gaming; Elroy and the Aliens launches on April 2nd, and will be part of this month's Steam Next Fest. Travel back in time to 1993 in the live demo and meet Elroy, a passionate but chaotic rocket engineer who teams up with the daring reporter Peggie to investigate the mysterious disappearance of his father. Their search for the truth will launch them on an unforgettable intergalactic adventure spanning 60 locales to explore across two sprawling planets.

Puzzles, peculiar aliens, and ancient legends await on Elroy's path, with a tale of love, loss, and regret presented in a 90s-era cartoon style inspired by LucasArts and Sierra games. You'll meet an eclectic cast of human (and non-human) locals to befriend as Elroy and Peggie begin to unravel an ancient archaeological mystery…

Warhorse Presents Official CGI Trailer for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

Experience the highs and lows of Henry's journey in the Official CGI Trailer for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, where life in 15th-century Bohemia is as unpredictable as it is unforgiving. From the chaos of a brawl to the fleeting joy of celebration, every moment pulls Henry deeper into the challenges of medieval life. Get ready for a story of resilience, danger, and the choices that will shape the next chapter. The journey begins February 4. Released in 2018, the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance thrust players into the life of Henry of Skalitz, a medieval blacksmith's apprentice turned vengeful adventurer. With the long-anticipated sequel almost upon us, what do newcomers need to know about the groundbreaking gameplay of this unique RPG series?

Meet Henry of Skalitz
Henry's original tale is a deeply personal one, set against the struggles of a medieval Bohemia's grander nobility. His tranquil life - as a humble blacksmith's apprentice - is dramatically upended when his parents are murdered during an assault waged by one of the warring lords of the land. Having narrowly fled the massacre himself, Henry's journey towards retribution sees him crossing paths with villagers, bandits and the nobility alike, as he battles to retrieve the sword crafted by his father for presentation on that fateful day - now a symbolic tool of retribution.

No Man's Sky Expanded with Worlds Part II Update

Hello! No Man's Sky is a game that we all genuinely truly love. Last year we released Worlds Part I and I remember thinking at the time that this is just the beginning. Across the universe we're adding billions of new solar systems and trillions of new planets, and introducing new biomes and terrains without changing what people already love about the game. Airborne Empire Takes Flight through Steam Early Access

Today Airborne Empire finally takes flight and is live on Steam!
