ADATA XPG SPECTRIX D40 DDR4 RGB Memory Review

Packaging

I really have to say that I love the packaging these ADATA SPECTRIX D40 sticks come in. Each stick is individually wrapped in a box with a flap in front. Inside the flap, you will find a few product details.

You can also get a close look at the memory itself, which is contained within a plastic clamshell inside the outer cardboard box.

However, because these sticks are going into an X299 test platform, I had not one box, but four! A lot of the metal of the heatsink has protective plastic on it to prevent the high-gloss finish from becoming marred during shipping, so once you free these sticks from ALL of their protective wrappings, you do end up with quite the pile of stuff to toss in the bin or place on your shelf. I do like the anticipation that builds up as you progressively remove all of that stuff though, and it really does help convey the fact that ADATA really has put thought into protecting their products and making sure they look their best in your system.
