Packaging

The Alphacool Apex Skeleton comes fully assembled in a big cardboard box which simply lists the product name in the front and a partial diagram of the chassis on the back, along with some dimensional tags. On the sides, things are similar as one panel lists some legal data, while the other offers another view of the Apex Skeleton alongside additional dimensions.

It feels like this case packaging was not quite final, as the thick foam spacers did not really fit so well and Alphacool employed some dense foam pads to bridge that difference. A black, branded cloth bag is used in place of a plastic bag, thus enhancing the overall unboxing experience.

Alongside the chassis, you will also find a large accessories box, which unexpectedly only holds a few items at the center.

Alphacool has included a branded bag with the core accessories, a larger clear bag with backup parts, and two mounting brackets intended for reservoirs. The Apex Skeleton also comes with a hex key which fits the screws that hold all the individual parts in place. Unfortunately, Alphacool forgoes the tool needed to detach the back panel of the motherboard tray, meaning you have to find a tool that fits the tiny hex-shaped heads of the screws holding that panel in place. Additionally, Alphacool does not include screws for the SSD mounting plate. This is something that is always included in all cases, down to the most affordable ones. But you do get an ARGB adapter cable, a tool to open up the cap of a liquid cooling line and some Velcro strips. Considering this is a $600+ case, one can expect to get everything needed, but instead the user gets some of the parts intended for the Apex Pro Skeleton.

Lastly, there is a basic manual, which is intended for both SKUs of the case, it also mentions the Pro variant. Alphacool did include a QR code to the digital document on page 2 of the paper version, which has a few tweaks and clarifications as well.
