SOC: Infineon TDA21462 (60 A)

The ASUS ROG Maximus XII Hero (WiFi) features a 8-phase VRM configuration using a parallel—or "Teamed"—power-stage design. Two Infineon TDA21462 power stages run in parallel for each phase, which gives ASUS double the power-handling capability without using any doublers.

ASUS is using one of their own Digi+ VRM ASP1405I PWM controllers to drive the ROG Maximus XII Hero (WiFi).

A second Digi+ VRM ASP1405I is set up underneath the socket to handle the VCCSA power delivery, which is also clustered between the socket and the first PCIe slot.

The ASUS ROG Maximus XII Hero (WiFi) uses Infineon TDA21462 power stages for all eight phases. There are fourteen stages for the Vcore and two stages for the SOC. These power stages each support a maximum of 60 A of continuous current. When paired with the chunky VRM cooling solution, the ROG Maximus XII Hero (WiFi) should be a capable overclocker.

The ASUS Z490 PG ROG Maximus XII Hero (WiFi) has a maximum output of 960 A, with 840 A dedicated to Vcore.
