The ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero lives up to the standards I expect from modern motherboards and has the extras I like to see—namely, the S/PDIF Out port. Plus, as with many high-end ASUS boards, there is a built-in DAC to improve the headphone audio experience.
Audio for this board is provided by a Realtek S1220A audio codec.
