SSD Temperatures

The SSD temperatures were impressive wherever you looked, with the ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Extreme posting the joint lowest PCIe Gen 4 SSD temperature we've seen on an AMD board and the lowest PCIe Gen 5 temperature by some margin. The best place for your Gen 4 SSD is the DIMM.2 module followed very closely by the massive lower heatsink, but even the top heatsink was only a few degrees off the top place with our single-sided SSD. For Gen 5 SSDs the top slot is your best bet, with the lower heatsink testing a fair bit warmer but still well away from throttling. Sadly the DIMM.2 module doesn't yet support PCIE Gen 5, perhaps with the next generation.
