Introduction

ASUS is a Taiwan-based computer hardware and electronics company founded in 1989. Back in 2014, the ROG Gladius was the first gaming mouse released by ASUS under the ROG brand. With the ROG Gladius III, ASUS both iterates on and innovates this classic design. For the Gladius III, PixArt's flagship sensor for both wired and wireless applications, the PAW3370, is used, though customized to allow for up to 26,000 CPI. Furthermore, the Gladius III comes with second-generation hot-swappable main button switch sockets, allowing one to use both 3-pin mechanical and 5-pin Omron optical switches. By default, ROG micro switches rated for 70 million clicks are installed, but may be swapped with Omron optical switches, a set of which is included in the box. At just 76 g, the Gladius III is noticeably lighter than its predecessors without having to resort to externally visible holes. The cable is the same as on the ROG Keris, featuring a soft braid and being exceptionally flexible. Pure PTFE feet are installed by default, and a set of replacement feet is included. Lastly, the RGB lighting is fully configurable through Armoury Crate, which also provides the usual customization features along with a new function called Rapid Fire.
