Overclocking

Overclocking with the Biostar Hi-Fi A88W 3D worked decently, although there are some caveats as the Application Power Management options are missing in the BIOS, so how far you can really push things is going to be limited by the chip's overall power consumption rather than its real capabilities once those limits are removed. Ignoring that, the board still remained perfectly stable once frequencies were increased, and the increase in power consumption did not seem to bother the board, which shows that Biostar overbuilt the board a little bit, as I feel all boards should be.

Without full OC capabilities here, there is not much of a point in reporting the numbers I got with the overclock, so I don't have any graphs to illustrate how well the board did with the overclock. What I can say is that the board can be pushed a little bit, but no more than you should expect given how much the Biostar Hi-Fi A88W 3D sets you back. Buying a Biostar product for overclocking only is, after all, never a wise choice, and nor does Biostar claim to be a company that provides such products.
