Packaging and Accessories

Given this heralds Bitspower's new Premium series of products, packaging and the unboxing experience can be no less than premium as well. The package comes in a plastic wrap, and underneath is a fairly large box for a CPU block. We see the company and product name in gold alongside a large render of the block design, and also notes that this particular version is the black metal option. We also see that the block is compatible with multiple different Intel and AMD CPU sockets out of the box and has integrated lighting compatible with all the mainstream motherboard lighting controls. On the back is effectively a re-telling of the text found on the product page, with marketing features and tech specs found here, and we then find out this is but an external sleeve on top of an inner box.

This inner box, also made out of cardboard, is predominantly black with the new Bitspower Premium logo on it and nothing else. It is a two-piece box with the upper half lifting off to reveal the contents inside, which is layered as seen above. The top layer constitutes a thick piece of foam with compartments cut out to snugly fit the block itself front and center, and also some of the installation hardware including four metal standoffs and locking nuts, each. In the compartment below are the rest of the accessories, which come in individually packed zip-lock pouches.

Here, we find a socket backplates for the various Intel sockets that need it (LGA 115x, anyone?), two AMD socket mounting brackets, as well as the rest of the installation hardware, including four 1 mm and 1.2 mm plastic washers, metal nuts, metal screws, metal springs, each, and a hex wrench in addition to a 3-pin 5 V dRGB splitter cable. The Intel socket backplate, which no doubt will see more use than any other, comes in three pieces, including a rubber back pad, a metal back plane, and a 3M-branded sticky pad. There is no printed manual included, which I still maintain is a mistake many companies are making, but at least there is an online copy available on the product page. There is also no thermal paste included, which should not be the case in this product segment.
