Introduction
I would like to thank
Cougar for supplying the review sample.
Up for review is the Cougar Megara, an in-ear gaming headset with a removable boom microphone for those who would take it on the road. Cougar even includes a secondary in-line microphone for such scenarios, alongside a controller to adjust your music playback as you like. We take it for a spin to see if it manages to offer both the functionality of a gaming headset and the music quality it takes for its mobile use during your travels to be a viable option.

The Package
The Cougar Megara ships in a plastic box with a large clear window. It shows the two ear pieces and the microphone to make sure you know exactly what you will get. On the rear of the box are some more details about its functional and design features, but no mention of its audio properties is made. You will find additional text and information on the smaller sides of the package.
The Contents
Cougar ships the Megara with a basic pouch, a total of three differently sized rubber tips, and a splitter cable for the microphone and headset. The latter is important for PC gamers as the usual audio I/O is split, but you are able to use the Megara with your mobile phone by leaving the adapter at home.
