Packaging and Accessories

EK's product packaging has evolved slightly over time, but in general, they have kept up with using a white and orange color scheme for their water block boxes. This remains the case here, with a predominantly white color in place as seen above. The EKWB logo in orange has been put on the front, along with the product name and a render of the block and marketing features. The contents list is on the back, along with a mention of this being part of their new Quantum line, which means there will be an acetal extension to the otherwise plexi top for the design. There are seals on the side that keep the contents inside in place, and removing both reveals an inner box as part of the two-stage packaging employed here.

This inner box out of cardboard is predominantly black with the white EKWB logo on the front and back. Flaps on the side can be lifted to reveal more cardboard layers from a single sheet for protection of the block underneath, along with a thin piece of foam, and a note mentions other products under the EK brand. There is a plastic zip-lock pouch above the block, and another is found underneath, before a final layer of thin foam that rounds it all off.

The accessories are all for installation, consisting of two sheets of 1 mm thick thermal pads, a tube of EK-TIM Ectotherm thermal paste, the mounting hardware of screws and washers, and a 2.5 mm hex key. EK tends to provide extras of most of these, which is nice in case you lose one but can be confusing to new users, especially in the abence of a printed manual, which I still maintain is a mistake many companies are making, but at least there is an online copy available on the product page.
