Shape and Dimensions

Shape

The shape of the Helios Go XD5 can be summed up in less than a single sentence: a Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0, just smaller. While the Ninjutso Origin One X changed the overall geometry of the shape while also making it smaller, the Helios Go XD5 is geometrically virtually identical, just scaled down uniformly. Even minute details such as how the main buttons integrate into the shell or the side buttons are angled have been recreated. Much like the IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0, the front doesn't have any overhang. The only notable difference is that the top shell integrates differently into the right side, but other than that the Helios Go XD5 is incredibly close to the original. Of course, the significantly smaller size alters how the mouse can and should be gripped. Whereas the IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 is a very large mouse that primarily lends itself to palm grip, the Helios Go XD5 borders on small, thus allowing different grip styles even for smaller hands. For those struggling with grip regardless, a set of grip tape covering the sides is included in the box.

As for grip styles, I'd say the Helios Go XD5 mostly suits palm and claw grip. It is a medium to small mouse with a moderately pronounced hump, which should make it generally suit most hand sizes. For reference, my hands are 19 cm long and 10 cm wide, and I found the Helios Go XD5 very comfortable in claw grip.
