Fractal Design Define 7 Compact Review

I would like to thank Fractal Design for supplying the review sample.

Fractal Design's hero product has always been the Define series. Now in its seventh generation, it still sets a high bar when it comes to silent computing and quality only a handful of other brands can match. That doesn't mean it has all been success in the past, with some of their enclosures that ventured into the more crowded mainstream market not nearly as well received. Unfortunately, there has been little choice for those who want a traditionally sized ATX case with the Define series DNA, but that changes today. With the Define 7 Compact, Fractal takes aim squarely at those who don't need a workstation chassis of essentially EATX dimensions, all while offering everything you would expect from the most recent Define 7 we reviewed in the past in a traditional mid-tower flavor.

Fractal has gone through a big rebranding effort in recent times, and the Define 7 Compact naturally sports the visual updates as the current package reflects their new design language. On the front is an image of the chassis, while the back holds a blow-up diagram. Both sides of the package are black and hardly hold any useful elements besides a sticker to let you know which variant you will be getting.

Even the insides of the box come with plenty of Fractal branding. Two thick Styrofoam spacers hold the chassis in place while a plastic bag keeps scratches and fingerprints away.
