Gigabyte has had some pretty flashy BIOS implementations in the past, but this time around, they have simplified things a bit, and in a way I have to commend. When I first booted up the Gigabyte X99-Ultra Gaming, I was greeted by a traditional layout with the options I wanted (clock and voltage settings) up front and center. The other options are easily navigated by clicking through the tabs across the top with your mouse or using your keyboard. All of the options are easy to understand and are laid out in a format that makes sense, making the time you spend in BIOS all that much more pleasurable. Overclocking was easy since the clock and voltage options were very easy to find, and when I sought to adjust fan settings, a nice interface popped up to help me with picking the right settings rather than having to guess what's what after reading through a bunch of text. There is also a simpler graphical interface if you like that better, and switching between these modes was as simple as clicking on the option that pops up at the bottom of the screen when your mouse hovers over it. There is also a simple monitoring panel on the right side of the screen, which again pops up when you hover over it. Want to flash your BIOS? You can access the tool to do so through the tab at the bottom that offers the ability to switch modes. I like this new BIOS layout from Gigabyte, and you probably will too.
