What's the verdict? The Herman Miller Logitech G Embody Gaming Chair is a fantastic chair—probably one of the best there is. Is it worth $1,500? That's a question I can't answer. Personally, I bought it during one of Herman Miller's holiday sales, at a 30% discount, which brought it down to a level I considered acceptable—especially considering that Herman Miller offers a comprehensive 12-year warranty covering the fabric, casters, cylinder, and all mechanisms. I intend to use it for many years beyond that, as (if) it holds up.
When purchased from the official webshop, Herman Miller allows returns within 14 days of receiving the product (more in some parts of the world), with a no-questions-asked refund policy. This should give potential buyers some much-needed peace of mind. However, two weeks—for me personally—weren't enough to properly assess the quality of the Embody. In fact, around day 14 of ownership I was ready to throw it out of the window. The only reason I decided to hold onto the Embody a little longer was because I had a potential buyer lined up.
That said, the return window is best used to determine whether you vibe with the chair at all. If you realize it's definitely not for you as soon as you sit in it—for whatever reason—you're best off packing it up and sending it back. There's little chance it will grow on you. On the other hand, if it's not an instant no, then definitely hang in there. After a while, you'll likely be rewarded with one of the best sitting experiences currently available from any office chair on the market.
