Neo Forza Faye DDR4-4600 2x 16 GB Review

Introduction

Neo Forza Logo

Neo Forza is one of the newer manufacturers of DRAM memory modules and flash memory products. Under the guidance of the parent company Goldkey, Neo Forza is a Taiwanese company founded in 2018 that focuses on enthusiast-grade products.

While Neo Forza may be a relatively new company, its memory lineup is quite broad with Encke, Faye, Finlay, and Mars SKUs to cover the needs of every user type. The Neo Forza Faye line is designed for overclocking enthusiasts, with the company priding itself for selecting high-quality chips in a strict filtering process. The Faye SKUs range from 3000 MT/s to 5000 MT/s, with listed DIMM sizes being 8 GB, 16 GB, and 32 GB. In this review, we will cover the Neo Forza Faye DDR4-4600 (2x 16 GB) kit rated for 4600 MT/s.

What makes this memory somewhat special is that it is in fact dual-rank memory. Unlike a majority of performance-grade memory on the market today, dual-rank has ICs placed on both sides, which can increase bandwidth and decrease access time to separate banks of data. The immediate advantage is that there is more memory per DIMM, with the second being that only two slots are required for the same amount four DIMMs often provide, thus allowing for higher operating frequencies with the same memory amount accessible to the system. Make no mistake, dual-rank memory operating at 4600 MT/s is no easy task and requires compatible, supporting hardware.

The Neo Forza Faye DDR4-4600 32 GB kit I have for review today has a XMP profile with 19-26-26-42 timings at 1.5 V and is a prime example of memory that is pushing the boundaries of what is possible of dual-rank memory. In this review, we will be testing the memory at its advertised speed before looking into what a bit of tuning can give us in terms of extra performance. Without further ado, let's now see how this Neo Forza Faye kit stacks up to the competition!

Packaging

The Neo Forza Faye DDR4-4600 comes in a blister pack with a sheet a paper behind the memory. The packaging itself has the company name in the top-left corner in bold letters. All the information about the actual memory can be found on the sticker for each DIMM module.

Flip the blister pack around and the back gives a bit more information about Neo Forza's mission statement, but not much else.

Removing the memory from the packaging was easy as it pulls apart with little force. As seen previously, each DIMM is held firmly in place to avoid scuffing during transportation.
