Cushions

Two velvety black pillows are included in the package for extra neck and lumbar support. Both pillows consist of memory foam and are embroidered with noblechairs' logo in a gunmetal color. The neck-support pillow is the smaller of the two and has straps that wrap around the backrest.

The lumbar-support pillow is bigger and does not have straps even though the feature is mentioned in the instruction manual.

Accessory alternatives

Since comfort and ergonomics are this company's primary goal, two additional options for the gas lift are provided for €29.90 each.

• Short gas-lift (-3 cm) for users who are approximately 1.80 m (70.86") tall.
• Short gas-lift (-1,5 cm) for users with a height of under 1.80 m (70.86") height.

Both gas lift pressure springs are approved for loads of up to 180 kg (396.83 lb) and allow the seat's height to be adjusted by up to 10 cm. Despite of how much weight these support, noblechairs suggests that the ICON chair should not be used by users who weigh more than 150 kg (330.7 lb).

Besides the aforementioned pair of optional gas lifts, noblechairs offers 60 mm hard floor casters with automatic brakes, which prevent any unintentional forward or backward movement.

Usage Experience

This chair certainly looks a lot better without the pillows, which had us try it out without the pillows as well, and it does offers even better lumbar support than noblechair's EPIC series and can, thus, be used without them. The body is made to adopt a straight position, which is preferable for longer gaming or working sessions. The chair felt quite hard at first, but the more time we spent using it, the softer it seemed to become, which is an advantage of the leather material. We also did not find any marks of sweat or felt inconvenienced because of body heat.

I am only 1.60 m (62.99") tall, which is usually a problem as far as the neck pillow is concerned. This time around, however, it was perfectly positioned. Taller users didn't seem to have a problem either since you can adjust its position as well.

The lumbar-support pillow, even though it is comfy and provides some extra comfort for the lumbar and pelvis region, isn't attached to the chair through straps, which makes it more difficult to use properly. Once one gets up and off the chair, the pillow will most likely drop onto the seat's base, so you will have to put it into place before taking a seat again. This can be tiresome, especially if you have to get up frequently. We really wonder why noblechairs chose not to use straps to keep the lumbar-support pillow in place. Its people probably thought that it would be nice to have an easily removable pillow, one people can also use elsewhere.

The armrests are smaller than usual, but their smaller size didn't cause any of the four different users who had tried this chair out any problems. One users didn't like the lack of soft padding on them, though, while all four agreed that the armrests look kind of cheap compared to the rest of the chair's components, which are of top quality. noblechairs should make a point of bringing these up to par in up and coming chair products of theirs by switching to more refined armrests. Finally, the armrests do not move around when you shake them on purpose, and their buttons feel sturdy.

The caster wheels do not roll around easily unless someone intentionally moves the chair. They are by far the steadiest wheels we have had in our work space thus far.
