Introduction
Last year AMD released their new Radeon HD 5800 Series of graphics cards which quickly became a big success due to the numerous improvements made over previous generations. Over the course of the last months AMD has been adding more cards to their DirectX 11 lineup quickly, one of the latest is the Radeon HD 5570. Just like the HD 5670, it is based on AMD's Redwood graphics processor which is made in a 40 nm process at TSMC Taiwan.
AMD is pricing their 512 MB HD 5670 cards around a $100 price point, and the HD 5570 at around $80. This is a tough market that is crowded with other cards like the GeForce GT 240, 9600 GT and 9800 GT. AMD's own products here are HD 4770, HD 4830 and HD 4850.
PowerColor has sent us their HD 5570. It comes with a simple OEM cooler and uses a PCB design very similar to the AMD reference PCB design as well as the stock clocks.

The Card
The PowerColor HD 5570 is a low profile card that comes with a "normal" bracket installed. If you are going to use the card in a low-profile media PC you can simply remove the full size bracket with the VGA port and install the included low-profile bracket.
The card occupies a single slot in your system - perfect for those compact media PC cases.
The card has one DVI port, one analog VGA port and one HDMI port. If you plan to run this card in a low-profile configuration, you may remove the analog VGA port by simply detaching the cable from the VGA card.
AMD's integrated sound device has been upgraded to support HDMI 1.3a which includes Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD, AC-3, DTS and up to 7.1 channel audio with 192 kHz / 24-bit.
CrossFire is possible without CF bridge using the PCI-Express bus for all data transfers.
