Introduction

ROCCAT Logo

Established in 2006, ROCCAT is a peripherals company based in Germany. Over the past couple of years, ROCCAT has been mostly known for their right-handed ergonomic designs, such as the Kone Pure Ultra or Kain series. The Burst Pro introduces a new ambidextrous shape reminiscent of the classic Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical shape. ROCCAT also goes new ways in terms of switches: For the first time ever on a ROCCAT mouse, the Burst Pro uses optical switches for the main buttons, providing lower latency and greater longevity compared to regular mechanical switches, which eventually start to double-click. Much like on the Kone Pure Ultra, the Burst Pro is utilizing an internal honeycomb structure in order to save weight without resorting to externally visible holes. The Burst Pro also comes with a highly flexible paracord-like, braided cable and high quality pure PTFE feet which have been heat-treated to provide optimal glide right out of the box. PixArt's PMW3389 capable of up to 16,000 CPI covers the sensor department, and ROCCAT Swarm allows for extensive customization of the rather sophisticated-looking honeycomb RGB lighting, as well as the usual array of other mouse options. A slightly stripped-down and more affordable variant, the Burst Core, is to follow later, which will feature PixArt's PMW3331 sensor and a regular rubber cable.
