Performance Analysis

CPU: Intel Core-i7 7700 (Stock)
GPU: GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB (Stock)
RAM: 16 GB 2400 CL15
Storage: Samsung 250 GB M.2 NVMe SSD (OS)
Storage: WD 1 TB 7200 RPM (Game)
Display: HP G-Sync 1080p @75hz

Overall performance was OK, but for a game that looks like it was designed in 2004, optimization is the special of the day here. CPU load was what I would consider far too high for the results you get. The game was only very occasionally buggy, particularly during animations after choosing an enemy to shoot at where the ship would just sort of... do nothing for a bit. It was just a bit of a mixed bag. While performance seemed perfectly smooth for the most part, I couldn't help but notice how massively erratic my GPU usage was. Using the 95th percentile in terms of GPU utilization is pretty damn high, but the average usage sat at around 60%, so it's obviously a hotly contested resource. Things just didn't add up for me.

For Very High settings
CPU: Intel i5/Ryzen 5
RAM: 4 GB
GPU: GTX 970/RX 570
VRAM: 4 GB
