Introduction

SteelSeries Logo

SteelSeries is a Denmark-based peripherals company that was founded in 2001. The Rival 3 is the third entry in the SteelSeries budget "Rival" line of mice, with the Rival 100 being the first and the Rival 110 being the second. While the shape has largely stayed the same, the internals have been significantly updated: The sensor is now PixArt's PMW3331 (branded "TrueMove Core" by SteelSeries), providing top-tier tracking at up to 8,500 CPI. The main button switches are rated for 60 million clicks now, and the weight has been lowered quite a bit. Full software customizability and SteelSeries' "Prism" three-zone RGB lighting are present as well. Pretty much the only thing still the same is the price, sitting at a highly competitive $29.99.
