The DAS comes in a medium-sized box featuring a blue paint job. A sticker depicts the model and serial numbers.

Internal protection is excellent.

A smaller box contains all the accessories, which consist of the paperwork, power adapter, a Thunderbolt 3 cable, bolts for mounting the drives to the trays, and two screwdrivers, a smaller and larger one. A nice touch are the stickers for marking the drives. Finally, a reset pin is also bundled; you will need it to set the desired RAID level.

This is the unit's power adapter. It is made by Edacpower, has model number EA10952F-120, and can deliver up to 90 W.

The power button is on the left, and right above it are the power and HDD LEDs. The drive bays don't feature any locks.

Three LEDs are the charging indicators: 20 V is lit when a MAC or a PC is charging through the Thunderbolt 3 port, 15 V when a PC is charging, and 9 V with a mobile phone charging.

The top handle is what makes Terra Master products stand out from the crowd, and the chassis's main shell is made out of metal, while the front and rear are of a plastic construction.

On this side, we have two USB 3.1 host ports, a Gigabit and two Thunderbolt 3 ports, the DisplayPort 1.4 interface, and the power input socket.

Right below the USB ports, you will find the RAID selection screw and, on the bottom side, the reset switch, which you have to depress for several seconds every time you set a new RAID level—you have to wait until the HDD LEDs at the face of the DAS turn green.

The trays are made out of plastic and lack locks and sound dampening. Since this DAS is for high-speed transfers, it is best to use SSDs instead of HDDs.

The trays loaded with SSDs.
