  • The Turtle Beach Ear Force Stealth 450 is available online for $85.
  • Great audio performance, both for music and serious gaming - a fine balance of precision and excitement
  • Built-in audio presets
  • Perfectly stable wireless connection with an extremely long range
  • Good battery life
  • Built-in microphone-monitoring feature is very useful
  • Ear cushions let the ears breathe and keep them fairly cool, thanks to the mesh fabric
  • Never becomes uncomfortable
  • Compact and light enough to be used on the go
  • Nice price-performance ratio
  • Subpar microphone quality, not to be used for anything other than in-game chatting
  • Short Micro-USB charging cable
  • Can't work in passive mode
  • It takes a while to get used to the location of various buttons and dials crammed into the right ear cup
  • Not for those with an exceptionally large head
Even though its microphone isn't good enough for anything other than Discord and TeamSpeak chats with your teammates, the Turtle Beach Stealth 450 offers a lot for the money, especially in the sound quality department. Its acoustic tuning, which is generally natural but with a pronounced bump in the lows (at around 80 Hz), manages to hit a fine balance between clinical accuracy and entertainment.

Thanks to that, the Stealth 450 will enable you to hear your enemies from afar, and you will always know where they are, effectively making you a better player in the process. At the same time, it will never sound sterile. I loved it for playing games and just as equally while going through my music playlists and watching movies. For $85, you're getting a lot of sound - and wirelessly too.

The wireless functionality doesn't feel like it was just slapped on as an afterthought. The connection with the WiFi receiver is perfectly stable and its range is insane - I was using the Stealth 450 about 20 meters and two walls away from the source without a single hitch. The battery will hold for around 16 hours, so you'll have to charge it approximately twice per week, perhaps even less.

Thanks to its light weight and compact form factor, it can also be taken outside of the house. In that case, you'll connect it to the sound source over the supplied analogue 3.5-mm audio cable. Unfortunately, the headphones cannot work in passive mode, so you'll have to worry about the battery even when you're using the Stealth 450 in wired mode.

If you don't plan to use your headset for Twitch streaming and YouTube voiceovers and are after a wireless model, the Turtle Beach Stealth 450 will delight you - without breaking the bank in the process.
