Introduction
The GeForce 8800 GT is already several months old, but still one of the best cards on the market. It is built around the NVIDIA G94 chip which has 505M transistors. This same chip will even be used on the soon to be released 9800 GTX. The VVIKOO GeForce 8800 GT Max 1024 MB we test today follows the reference specification, except that it comes with 1024 MB of GDDR3 memory instead of 512 MB.
When we tested the 1 GB version of the AMD Radeon HD 2900 XT we saw that there is no performance increase by going to 1 GB. Hopefully this will be better with the 8800 GT 1 GB.

Packaging & Contents
VVIKOO recently changed their box design from a silver look with a bee to the package you see above. It uses more dark colors and a mythical figure in the middle. On the back you find some basic specs but not detailed enough to reveal clock speeds.
You will receive:
- Graphics card
- Instruction Manual + Driver CD + Tomb Raider CD
- DVI Adapter + HDMI Adapter
- TV out cables
- PCI-E power cable
The Card
VVIKOO uses a pretty purple PCB and combines this with the Zalman VF1000 cooler, which results in the card requiring two slots for operation.
The card features two DVI outputs which can be used with digital flat panels for resolutions up to 2560x1600. In case you still have an old analog display you can use the included DVI adapter. To connect the card to your HDTV you can use the included adapter for HDMI+HDCP. The audio component can be added from your sound card by connecting an audio cable to the card (near the SLI connector, see the next page).
Here are the front and the back of the card, high-res versions are also available (
