Dragon Quest XI

Dragon Quest XI is one of 2018's hidden gems to hit PC gaming. This deceptively simple-looking RPG is built on decades of design experience with JRPGs and a strong quest storyline in which you, a teenage protagonist with mystical origins and hidden powers, embark on a journey to seek out a powerful weapon to fight evil, while you're chased by an evil king and his knights. In this journey, you join forces with several interesting and three-dimensional characters that make the quest unlike many an RPG before it.

It may look cartoonish to the extent of looking like a 1990s anime, but Dragon Quest XI is built using Unreal Engine 4 and uses DirectX 11. It can be moderately taxing on your machine.
