A Closer Look

The Myvu Personal Media Viewer comes in a soft Spandex bag with a pull-string to close the top. When the unit is removed, the wires are bundled with twisted wire ties and there are pieces of protective plastic film covering the lens and the remote.

The Personal Media Viewer is made of textured black plastic with the only glossy part being the lens and the remote face. The two side pieces fold out for wearing and in for storage, just like regular glasses or sunglasses. The ends of the side pieces have rubber tips to help to hold the unit in place, and the earbuds are connected to the sides with wires about 3.5 inches long.

The in-line remote has two buttons on it. One two-way rocker button controls the volume, which is independent of the volume control on the iPod itself. The other four-way rocker button controls the adjustments for brightness and contrast. At the end of the cable is a plug similar to the typical iPod charging/data transfer cable, and it has a protective cap. However, on the opposite end of the plug is a small jack, which will accept the plug from the Myvu charger or optional Power Pack.

When viewed from the inside, the Personal Media Viewer has two windows and two lenses. The windows allow the user to see through the unit while wearing it, and the lenses are where the image will be displayed. The two displays act as one and allow the user to see only one screen.
