So simple, yet so useful. I will actually likely get one of these :)

Does it come with a lock? I would buy one and keep my important disks/usb stick in there for LANs and stuff it had a lock.

This is fail, let me explain.

This product is specificall for a Desktop.
A desktop machine sits on a Desk.
A desk has Drawers.
Drawers provide optimal storage space and thus eliminate the need for a product like this.

would have been cool if it had a CD-like automated release mechanisim - otherwise they can't charge more than £10 for this?

yea, this is kinda pointless considering all of the desk drawers you have around you...

also, stuffing things inside one of these you would most likely hear rattling and vibrating.
by Kantastic (November 23rd - 8:55 PM) - Reply
Thing is, my drawers are so stuffed full of crap that I can never find anything anymore. I know it's in there somewhere, but digging through all that crap if too much. God knows how many times I bought a new USB because I couldn't find my old one.

Yeah tho these are good for small random PC-related things such as thumb drives, screws, jumpers, etc. Thermaltake has had one on the market for awhile tho I like the idea of a mesh one.

You haven't seen my desk! Umm... I can't see it either.

For me, the usefullness would be swapping out frequently used CD's and DVD's - that's about it. A nice idea.

My desk doesn't have any drawers! Not everyone is cool enough to have drawers! :p

just wait until a drawer gets stuck and whatever is in it ends up on a circuit board!

I like the idea and do not have drawers in my desk either. My case has a tray on the top though that is large enough for flash media and other accessories :D

Had some with my TT Armor case and they were removed on day one so i could fit 3 120mm fans there.

I built my own computer desk, especially for my Triple monitor setup. I made it without anything that would stain its simplistic beauty.

This is something I'd be very interested in, considering I don't have anything else to do with my 5.25" bays.

Kinda the same thing I was thinking. but I was going more along the lines of building your own set of small draws etc out of plywood - you can make them in all sizes & they'd still be uber useful around the house if you dont need them - you could even sell them to your neighbour & say they came from a new range at Ikea.

almost anyone can build funiture - this is highschool Design Technology grade stuff

Building furniture requires several things that many people do not have like, wood, tools, time, and patients. This item can be very useful for some and pointless for others. For me it is rather pointless, but I will not say no one has need for it.

The one thing we can all agree on, this is a much better idea than the 3.5" Cup holder for desktops. That was just stupid.

i know lots of people who use things like this (mostly older thermaltake models) to store PC stuff.

Not everyone lives in a house with a dedicated PC room, most people i know have to keep all their stuff in their bedroom (uni students) - so having a little dedicated area to stick their OS disk, flash drives, and a screwdriver where it cant get lost is a great idea.

as said tho, they really, really do need a lock...
