First pictures of AMD's mainstream card, HD 7770, have now been leaked online. This card is the first major upgrade to the HD 5770 in two years, since the HD 6770 was just a rebrand. It features the Cape Verde GPU, which replaces the Juniper GPU used in the HD 5770/HD 6770. The card looks somewhat different, with a large fan sitting on top of the GPU, blowing directly onto it and the card's length is the same as the HD 5770, at around 8.25 inches.

SPECIFICATIONS
  • Three display outputs, DVI, HDMI and miniDisplayPort
  • Single Crossfire connector for 2 cards max
  • The reference PCB has four GDDR5 memory chips, implying a 128-bit memory interface
  • Single 6-pin PCI-E power connector
  • Around 100 Watts power consumption
Finally, as can be seen by the second picture of the naked PCB, the Cape Verde GPU is physically quite small for this level of performance. The old Juniper XT is 166 mm², the GF116 is 230 mm² (NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti), while this GPU looks like it's under 150 mm². Judging by the sizes of the fan and the GPU, this card should be quiet and have good thermals.

they should release dual crossfire connectors for quad crossfire

A-HA! I knew there had to be an HD 7770. Now I'm eagerly awaiting reviews.

This looks like 6870 on 28nm with 128bit bus. They should have made it shorter there is so much unused space on that pcb.

No way this thing has 1120SP. If there are, then motherofgod.jpg On second thought... looking at 28NM and all, this might be possible

Less than 100W then!

this is the Triple 7, looks very capable

hehe didn't expect our currency (Croatian Kuna) there

looks like the 4670s heatsink, hopefully they will put out a smaller PCB without the 6pin connector. Be nice to see this in the $150 range:)

HD 5770/6770 without a 6-pin connector would be awesome, but count any overclocking out though. :S

how the bloody hell did a 1 kuna coin (croatian currency) end up there?!?!

The price should be quite higher than what 5770 first released

Interesting ES, seeing the stock cooler on the PCB would be completely impossible to mount due to where the smds are located. I'm tempted at the moment but will have to see the final results.

looks nice but the cooler like gf 550/560 if it eats under 100w and with full pcb it could be better

I can't wait to see some non-reference pcb hopefully much shorter and maybe single slot?

why so? The heatsink and PCB look like the low mid for the last few gens should be cheaper to produce. I guess 75xx=64bit,77xx= 128bit,78xx=256 and 79xx=384? edit: isn't pci-e II 150w output per slot?

New info:
Cape Verde is expected to be the cheapest GCN based product. Everything below HD 7700 series – from HD 7600 and down – is expected to be rebrands with minor tweaks from HD 6000 series featuring the VLIW-5 architecture.
Source: http://videocardz.com/29914/amd-radeon-hd-7770-pictured Also i think about that of the price because of the performance between other cards EDIT: Also something even more interesting! http://videocardz.com/29903/no-nvidia-600-series-leaked-gtx-780-kepler-benchmark

No, it's 75W per slot.

Won't there be a limit eventually to how much info that can be put through a 128-bit memory interface?

Not new. It's been talked about here before. http://www.techpowerup.com/155365/Several-Entry-thru-mid-Radeon-HD-7000-GPUs-Mere-Rebrands.html

I didnt say this is new though :)

seeing the pci-e power connector, it should be between 75W to 150W TDP
