Apple and HTC Settle Patent Dispute

HTC and Apple have reached a global settlement that includes the dismissal of all current lawsuits and a ten-year license agreement. The license extends to current and future patents held by both parties. The terms of the settlement are confidential.

"HTC is pleased to have resolved its dispute with Apple, so HTC can focus on innovation instead of litigation," said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC. "We are glad to have reached a settlement with HTC," said Tim Cook, CEO of Apple. "We will continue to stay laser focused on product innovation."

Actually what Apple means: Since we have sued the oblivion out of HTC and now that HTC don't even achieve their sales target, we should be laser focused on Samsung (We recently got patent on rounded ractangle use see :) Hint Samsung S3 ). Oh btw, we forgot to add the 10 year agreement is still going to give us money on each and every piece sold by HTC, so win is us. :nutkick:

this is what makes me mad about apple. If they didn't sue every other phone manufacture I would like them but then they go pull this crap, why do they think they are the only ones innovating? At least thats how I look at it.

It's all part of the game nowadays, Apple is far from alone.

Anyway I miss Qtek. If someone made a modern version of thisI'd buy it in a heartbeat. I've owned a couple of HTC phones with WinMo and they were all excellent, they were the kings back then. Nowadays their phones aren't as interesting.
