Jim Keller Joins Samsung Electronics

CPU whiz Jim Keller, who has been behind some of the biggest CPU core design projects with AMD and Apple, reportedly joined Samsung Electronics, after a brief second stint at AMD, in which he led the team designing the company's "Zen" CPU core micro-architecture. Samsung, makers of the Exynos family of ARM SoCs, which drive the company's own brand smartphones and tablets; could use Keller's talents in designing newer, bigger chips, or perhaps even smaller, low-power chips, as the company gears up for the wast and uncharted IoT industry.

Not exactly, seeing how there has only been rumors and words thrown about over the web about Samsung or Microsoft interested in AMD. AMD is still AMD, and will be for the foreseeable future. Jim Keller likes ARM, and Samsung wanted his expertise. Jim Keller is a contractor, he doesn't just stay with a company forever. Once the overall design of the chip he worked on is done and its been tapped out, he's done. Time to move onto better things.
