NVIDIA Outs GeForce 364.96 Hotfix Drivers

NVIDIA released today its latest "Hotfix" GeForce drivers that add optimization for an unannounced game and a minor GeForce Experience-related bug. To begin with, GeForce 364.96 Hotfix driver comes with optimization (read: "support") for DOOM: Open Beta. Don't expect SLI support on this game's OpenGL-based engine, though. The drivers also address a bug with GeForce Experience that caused it to not open correctly without an active Internet connection.

TheMailMan78To bad Doom sucks.
They hired the same guys for the multiplayer part who did halo, call of duty and games like those. It was obvious it will turn into a console infested BethesDOOM, and a real disgrace of PC fps gaming, it has nothing to do with DOOM. They will probably do the same with Quake too soon. It's all about milking the cow as many times as possible.

"Developer id Software has teamed up with Certain Affinity to develop the multiplayer part of Doom. It is not the first time Certain Affinity has partnered with a well-known studio to work exclusively on the multiplayer segment of a game; the studio has contributed to the multiplayer development of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and Halo 4, amongst others."

1. That's Ranger from Quake 1 in your avatar. I ran that skin in Q3. Truly love your avatar.
2. I haven't been in the gaming loop in sometime. If I would have known Certain Affinity was involved I wouldn't have even bothered downloading the demo.....err beta. I now understand why the original iD crew left. Its not iD without Carmack and the boys.

SlizzoThere won't be SLI profiles for Doom since it's not a DirectX game.
Wait, SLI requires DirectX? WTF does SLI mode on the linux drivers do then?

I find this highly unlikely.

cyneaterCarmack doesn't work for ID ..

and ID are owned by Bethesda Softworks who hack things together.

So how knows what will be in doom...
Carmack worked for id long enough to complete the engine, then he left.

As mentioned; no, it doesn't. SLI is supported in OpenGL and even Vulkan for that matter.
