Corsair LL120 and LL140 RGB LED Fans

Digging through an unnamed retailer's website, Videocardz was the first to spot Corsair's newest RGB fan series. I know what you are thinking, not another RGB fan. But the LL series is a bit different. Thanks to sixteen programmable diodes, separated into two light loops, these fans can act like RGB strips when used with Corsair's Lightning Node Pro, which is needed to control the fans through Corsair's Link program. The fans will be sold separately or in kits, which include the Lightning Node Pro.

Newegg.com currently lists the single LL120 and LL140 fans for $34.99 and 39.99, respectively. The twin 140 fan kit is $99.99, with triple 120 fan kit costing $119.99.

Looks cheap. And it doesn't even have anti vibration rubberized stuff in the corners. But it has RGB. Yay...

Though I find their HD120 RGB a more reasonably priced one for now... and a little better than SP120 RGB in terms of lighting flexibility, price & higher static pressure at max speed.

I would have to have my mind erased to use that horrible Corsair Link app again...

Between this and BeQuiet SilentWings 3, I don't think there is much to think about. Unless RGB is all you care.

It's actually a lot better than it was, but still a bit buggy...

It's been fine for my review of these fans, if anyone's interested: thermalbench.com/2017/10/12/corsair-ll140-rgb-140mm-fan/

tl,dr: All about aesthetics, and not really performance. If this is what you were looking for, go for it- hard to imagine better options are out there. If not, there are much better performers for lower prices.

Does Corsair make any good fans btw? Especially something that'll quite down an h100i a bit?

Were you able to see why they perform worse than the HD series fans?

Edit: NVM a side-by-side makes the reason obvious. Larger center hub to pack in the extra LEDs

Yup, which in turn leads to smaller blades. They are sending me a 120 mm kit for TPU as well.

Why is the twin pack of the 140's $99.99 when it would be cheaper to just buy them individually for almost $20 cheaper? Am I reading that wrong?
