Intel Arc GPU Graphics Drivers 101.4255 WHQL Released

Intel Graphics today released the latest Arc GPU Graphics Drivers. Version 101.4255 WHQL comes with day-zero Game On driver optimization for "Resident Evil 4 Remake." The drivers also improve performance for "Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy," D5 Render, Blender in material preview viewport mode, and "Counter Strike: Global Offensive" on Arc Laptop GPUs. Among the fixed issues for Arc GPUs is display corruption noticed in "Conqueror's Blade" in the game's in-built benchmark mode; and "Portal with RTX" experiencing a crash when loading to gameplay. For Iris Xe iGPUs, "Overwatch 2" seeing a lag or freeze during game launch, has been fixed. An application crash during gameplay for "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2" has been fixed, too.

Driver design/approval takes weeks, so, Raja was definitely around when this driver was completely developed and tested. WHQL so-called "certification" is done automatic, not by humans.

Raja is leaving at the end of the month, so he is still there

Lets hope he left/leaves with working Arc and working drivers. I think Intel needs to come out with a public commitment and roadmap for Arc… give us all a little confidence they are serious and will continue to invest strategically in Arc, afterall they have dropped so many product lines previously.

Because the Q3,2022 roadmap leaked in January is so awful, that alone would be enough to get Raja fired and Arc/Alchemist cancelled.

I know, it was an attempt for a joke. :(

"Still there", "still under contract", "still in the office", "still managing the teams", "garden leave". Which is it?

You need to think about the strategic reasons why Intel announced Raja's leaving. It's not to tell us, the consumer, for our soap gossip. No, it's for the employees and for the potential new hires/new head. Raja is leaving. So, you can stay, party, or come join us, and make your future here, without Raja!

I don't have an Arc card but from reading tech news and reviews it seems like Arc drivers started out terrible but are decent now, and it sounds like people who have the cards aren't running in to too many issues.

Eh, it's only made by a multibillion semiconductor conglomerate. They were bound to get it properly done at some point, no?
