i think were all better off waiting for the 8900 series cards or the AMD r600 series cards because they way it looks is these 8800 series cards will not be top spec for very long before Nvidia rushes in more changes.

TBH I think NVidia and its partners have lost the plot, if this is the result of R600 not being released yet so they think they can just bleed us for a while longer I might even have to stray back to ATi. Jesus you can but a second hand car for the proce of that WC 8800Ultra, they even launch the 8600GTS and its DX9 performance struggles to match the 1950Pro but they charge more for it, I have always liked NVidia myself but have owned many ATi cards also but I only hope that when we see the R600 in a couple of weeks time they are priced sensibly and can compete in performance.

This is flipping ridiculous. Nvidia needs to get on the ball and realize folks arent made out of money. I know they have been wanting to push the $1000 mark for a video card which in turn would make it where they dont have to lower the price of the midrange and lowrange cards, but they are morons to the end. I hope the R600 isnt the same way.

yep, when r600 will be out, we will get close performance for half the price, plus r600 isn't just a video card, it's a media center :D
