No screenie, it crashed after :( Took five attempts to get it to run. Kept crashing on CPU tests, think I need to relax the RAM latency.

Is that all? I get 9200 in 05 on my OC'ed XL @ 650 / 650 :rockout:

*Edit. this is stable with ATiTool beta9. Will try going higher with beta10.

Could be CPU limitation.

Its not CPU limitation, its the CPU tests on 3DM05. I have a skt 478 P4 3.0@3.6 and an X1800XL. With the XL at 550/550, I achieved 7000 which is pretty rubbish. CS:source demo 1280x1024 max detail 4af 4aa scored 130fps which is pretty decent afaik. Lets face it, AMD is owning all Pentiums, unless you have a Dothan!

Slightly different now, does anyone have a problem with their anti virus (I'm using McAfee) software deleting ATiTool? Using the driver heaven tool at the moment, but its a pain to readjust after every boot.

I had the same problem. Beta10 is out which corrects this issue ;)

Nice! Can someone then tell me why, if I use CCC overdrive, that my pc automatically restarts? I'm sure something is wrong with my card!

Try using only ATiTool and see what happens. If it does the same thing let us know.

No, but my card will not overvolt than .025v without VPU recover kicking in. In addition, I cant run at stock speeds without getting artifacts, and ATiTool starts to lower my clocks :(
RMAing would be a pain as it will have to go to ATi in Canada and i'm in the UK. The only other thing is to buy another card and get a refund for the one I have?

Firstly artifact testing doesn't work in beta9. Install beta10 and go into ATiTool settings and set the arti scanning method to "old more reliable method".

Secondly, disable these two services: ATI hotkey poller and ATI smart.

Try this and give us feedback.

Hmm, did the trick..ish! On 1.12v, I achieved 577core. aborted after running 5 mins of that. Ran memory and its went past 600, but black screened randomly at 616. I have a Zalman Vf-700Cu on it and it still reaches 70ºC! I have a feeling I was a bit stingy with the AS5, so i might remount the cooler. I suppose I should try upping the volts. I know that XT's run at 1.3vCore, whats the max for the (supposedly identical) XL?

Yes, AMD is best for gaming, but dont believe all this CPU limitation rubbish! Yes it does happen, but the graphics will always be the limiting factor unless you really want to play at 9876498563fps! I must say, that my intel is doing me proud. I paid £125 june 2004 and its still going strong. Plus, hyperthreading is a really useful feature for the smooth running general desktop apps. Bit off topic sorry!

Not in 3Dmark05.

My single core 4000+ is eating a friends 4400+ X2 alive. And I still haven't hit the top on mine yet, just need a little more cooling.
