The FirePro W9100 was a professional graphics card by AMD, launched on March 26th, 2014. Built on the 28 nm process, and based on the Hawaii graphics processor, in its Hawaii GL44 variant, the card supports DirectX 12. The Hawaii graphics processor is a large chip with a die area of 438 mm² and 6,200 million transistors. It features 2816 shading units, 176 texture mapping units, and 64 ROPs. AMD has paired 16 GB GDDR5 memory with the FirePro W9100, which are connected using a 512-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 930 MHz, memory is running at 1250 MHz (5 Gbps effective).
Being a dual-slot card, the AMD FirePro W9100 draws power from 1x 6-pin + 1x 8-pin power connector, with power draw rated at 275 W maximum. Display outputs include: 6x mini-DisplayPort 1.2, 1x S-Video. FirePro W9100 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 interface. The card measures 275 mm in length, 111 mm in width, and features a dual-slot cooling solution.
