ASUS today announced the Republic of Gamers (ROG) XG Station 2 external graphics enclosure. A successor to the pioneering XG Station by the company, which launched way back in 2007, this box has the connectivity to drive high-end graphics cards, and expand connectivity of your machine. The enclosure features a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot, and two 6+2 pin PCIe power connectors, with which it can supply the card with up to 500W of power. Its power supply can further provide up to 100W of power to recharge your notebook. The internal power supply meets 80 Plus Gold efficiency rating.

The ROG XG Station 2 connects to your notebook or desktop using Thunderbolt 3 (40 Gbps). It uses this bandwidth to drive not just the graphics card, but also a gigabit Ethernet controller, and a 4-port USB 3.0 hub. You can supplement the main Thunderbolt connection's bandwidth with an additional USB 3.0 (5 Gbps) connection to your host machine. This isn't necessary, but ASUS claims it will improve performance. The enclosure opens up at a vertical seam like an oyster, letting you easily install your graphics card. The walls of the enclosure are perforated, but a trio of 70 mm fans actively ventilate it. The enclosure also features RGB LED lighting, which can be managed using ASUS Aura software. ASUS plans to sell the ROG XG Station 2 from Q1-2017.

Enermax unveiled the Revolution SFX line of power supplies (PSUs) for the SFX form-factor. Available in variants of 550W and 650W, these PSUs feature full modular cabling. The units measure 125 mm x 100 mm x 63.5 mm (LxDxH), and feature a single 80 mm fan for ventilation, with fanless operation under 30% load. Under the hood, these units feature a single +12V rail design, with 80 Plus Gold efficiency, and most common electrical protection mechanisms.

Both variants of the Enermax Revolution SFX ship with flat modular cables, including two 6+2 pin PCIe, one 4+4 pin EPS, one 24-pin ATX, six SATA power, and four 4-pin Molex, with one Molex to Berg adapter. EVGA unveiled no less than three new 1600W power supplies at Computex, including the Supernova 1600 G2 (recently announced), the Supernova 1600 T2, and the Supernova 1600 P2. Their model names should be a dead giveaway on how the three differ from each other. While the 1600 G2 lives up to 80 Plus Gold efficiency standards, the 1600 P2 scores 80 Plus Platinum, and the 1600 T2 80 Plus Titanium. The three feature nearly identical power-distribution diagrams, feature-sets; although we're not sure if the P2 and T2 translate their higher efficiency into more output connectors. Either of the three should be good enough for systems with four R9 290X, or two R9 295X2 graphics cards; but we guess the 1600 P2 and 1600 T2 should appeal to professional overclockers who also plan to throw 150W TDP Core i7-5960X "Haswell-E" into the mix.
