MSI Grades its Gaming Series Graphics Card Lineup

With the GeForce 10 Series, MSI is beginning to sub-brand its Gaming series graphics cards, so it could offer them at multiple price-points. The company launched its GTX 1080 lineup with the GTX 1080 Gaming X. The "X" here denotes a middle-grade (for features and clock speeds). A notch above this, is the GTX 1080 Gaming Z (yet to be launched, comes with the most features and highest clock speeds). There will be a third brand-extension, which will succeed the "LE" extension from previous generations. It could very well just be "Gaming" (no letters next to it). These cards look custom-design, but feature reference or close to reference clock speeds. Below are the pictures of the MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Gaming Z (not yet launched), and the GeForce GTX 1070 Gaming X.

GALAX GeForce GTX 1070 Lineup Detailed, Readies HOF Model

It looks like GALAX has a pretty comprehensive lineup of GeForce GTX 1070 graphics cards, addressing key performance-thru-enthusiast price-points. The lineup begins with the blower-type base model. This card is built to a cost, and GALAX could look to sell it close to the $379 baseline NVIDIA set for the GTX 1070. Higher up the ladder, is the company's custom-design EXOC graphics card.

Expected to be priced close to the $450 price NVIDIA is asking for the GTX 1070 Founders Edition card, the EXOC gives you more, with a large triple-fan cooling solution, a custom-design PCB with a stronger VRM, and factory-overclocked speeds. Then there's the GTX 1070 Hall of Fame, which GALAX is still working on. The company only has its PCB (minus the ASIC) to show us. Likely priced above $500, this card will feature the company's highest factory-OC which should get its performance in the same ballpark as some of the affordable custom-design GTX 1080 cards (while looking a lot cooler).

Palit GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 JetStream and G-Panel Pictured

Here are some of the first pictures of Palit's enthusiast-grade, JetStream-branded GeForce GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 graphics cards. The two cards look similar, with an identical JetStream cooling solution, with slightly different PCBs on account of different memory types between the two SKUs. These cards are not to be confused with the GTX 1080 Super JetStream, which features the company's highest possible factory OC for the GTX 1080.

Much like the GTX 1070/GTX 1080 GamerRock, the JetStream features a touch of RGB LED lighting along its cooler's top. The company also showed off the G-Panel accessory. We're not sure if this comes bundled with the JetStream cards, or is meant to be purchased separately. The module plugs into one of the USB 3.0 headers on your motherboard, or a type-A port if used externally, and puts out two front-panel USB 3.0 ports of its own (one each of type-A and type-C). The biggest feature, however, is the 2-color LCD display, which can put out five lines of text in the system font, with useful realtime temperature/clocks monitoring, general information, or simply a cool alarm clock.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Reference PCB Pictured

Here's the first picture of an NVIDIA reference-design PCB for the GeForce GTX 1070. The PCB (PG411) is similar to that of the GTX 1080 (PG413), except for two major differences, VRM and memory. The two PCBs are pictured below in that order. The GTX 1070 PCB features one lesser VRM phase compared to the GTX 1080. The other major difference is that it features larger GDDR5 memory chips, compared to the smaller GDDR5X memory chips found on the GTX 1080. These are 8 Gbps chips, and according to an older article, its clock speed is maxed out to specifications, at which the memory bandwidth works out to be 256 GB/s. The GeForce GTX 1070 will be available by 10th June.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Specifications Revealed

NVIDIA's second graphics card based on its GP104 "Pascal" silicon, the more affordable GeForce GTX 1070, hits the shelves on June 10, 2016. At the May 7th event, the company was surprisingly quiet about its specifications, until now. It turns out that slower memory isn't the only thing setting the GTX 1070 apart from the GTX 1080. The company will also cut down the CUDA core count, a proportionate number of TMU count, and lower the GPU clock speeds.

NVIDIA set the MSRP for the GeForce GTX 1070 at US $379, $50 higher than the launch-price of the GTX 970, the most popular SKU based on the GM204 silicon. The company also plans to sell a premium reference-design card, dubbed the GeForce GTX 1070 Founders Edition, at $449, at a $70 premium. NVIDIA hopes to make the GTX 1070 the go-to card for Summer 2016 PC upgrades.
The specifications follow.

GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1080/GTX 1070 Xtreme Gaming Teased

GIGABYTE teased a silhouette of its upcoming GeForce GTX 1080 Xtreme Gaming graphics card. This could very well also be a teaser for its GTX 1070 Xtreme Gaming. Not only is NVIDIA allowing custom-design GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 graphics cards from day-one, but is also incentivizing choosing them. The MSRP for GTX 1080 is set at $599. You won't get the reference card for this price. That's being sold at a premium, for $699, as "Founders Edition."

NVIDIA "suggests" that the cheapest custom-design cards at launch will be $100 cheaper than the reference-design card. From the looks of the silhouette, the GTX 1080 Xtreme Gaming could feature the same WindForce 3X cooling solution as the one featured on the company's GTX 980 Ti Xtreme Gaming. The GTX 1080 goes on sale from May 27, with the GTX 1070 following on June 10, however, GIGABYTE's Xtreme Gaming cards arrive no sooner than June.

NVIDIA Also Announces $379 "Faster than TITAN X" GTX 1070

Hot on the heels of the GeForce GTX 1080, the company also announced its second fastest GPU, the GeForce GTX 1070. Based on the same 16 nm GP104 silicon as the GTX 1080, the GTX 1070 features 8 GB of GDDR5 memory, and has 3 quarters the single precision performance (6.5 TFLOP/s vs. 9 TFLOP/s) of the GTX 1080. NVIDIA claims that just as the GTX 1080 is faster than the GTX 980 SLI, the GTX 1070 is faster than the GTX TITAN X, making it the second fastest GPU in existence. Available on June 10, the GTX 1070 will be priced at US $379, with a "founder's edition" (reference-design) card going for $449.
