Acer Readies Ferrari One Ultraportable

Acer has a history of designing Ferrari-branded notebooks powered by AMD processors. The newest in the league is the ultraportable Acer Ferrari One. This is one of the first implementations of AMD's Congo notebook platform that makes use of ULV tech friendly AMD Athlon X2 L310 dual-core processor clocked at 1.20 GHz, ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics and a 11.6 inch 1366 x 768 pixel screen. The biggest selling point besides the Ferrari branding, colours and is its ultra-thin chassis that looks to have a dash of carbon fiber. Other specs include WiFi, HSDPA/3G, gigabit Ethernet, and a 6-cell battery. Slated for October 22, the Ferrari One will sell for 499 EUR, with Windows 7 pre-installed.

Acer Presents the Ferrari 1200

Acer, today presented the new Ferrari 1200, an all-new notebook series designed to deliver mobile computing superiority in an exclusive style.

In the true spirit of the Ferrari racing team, the Acer Ferrari 1200 notebook combines powerful performance and extreme portability with the excellence of design. From the choice of materials to the smallest detail, the Ferrari 1200 conveys the look and feel of a F1 racecar. The carbon-fibre cover, a material actually used in racecars, is lighter yet stronger than magnesium alloy, making the Ferrari 1200 the perfect travel companion. Unique ventilation design echoes the exhaust pipes of F1 cars and the anodized-metal touchpad resembles the brake and acceleration pedals of a Ferrari car. A tasteful wave pattern embellishes the cover, while the soft-touch coating and the velvety texture of the interior ensure ergonomic comfort.

Acer Unveils New Ferrari Notebook

Acer plans to unveil two new ultra-portable notebooks, the Aspire 2920 and the Ferrari 1110. Looking at the Aspire 2920, it's the first 12.1-inch notebook to use Acer's new Gemstone design theme. The 12,1-inch widescreen (1280x800) 2920 model features Santa Rosa Core 2 Duo, up to 2GB 667MHz DRR2 RAM, Intel GMA X310 graphics (up to 358MB), 250GB hard drive, Gigabit LAN and wireless connectivity. Again with 12.1-inch widescreen display, but this time with white LED backlighting and lots of carbon fiber, comes the Ferrari 1100. This good looking laptop will offer users the AMD M690T chipset with AMD Turion X2 CPUs (from the 1.60GHz TL-58 to the 2.3GHz TL-66 model), 2GB of 667MHz DDR2 RAM (upgradeable to 4GB), ATI Radeon X1250 with up to 960MB of HyperMemory and Draft N Wi-Fi. Both laptops come with a legal copy of Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic or Home Premium. There's no word on pricing, and availability.
