Samsung Offers Ultra High Speed-1 MicroSD Cards

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., the world leader in advanced memory technology, today announced that it is now mass producing Ultra High Speed–1 (UHS-1) interface microSD cards that support the highest performance levels required on advanced LTE (Long Term Evolution) smartphones and tablets.

Buffalo Intros RMSD-C6SA Class6 MicroSDHC Cards

Buffalo Japan introduced the RMSD-C6SA series of Class6 microSDHC cards. Pictured below, the cards are available in capacities of 4 GB (RMSD-4GC6SA), 8 GB (RMSD-8GC6SA), 16 GB (16GC6SA RMSD), and 32 GB (RMSD-32GC6SA). As Class6 devices, transfer rates of at least 6 MB/s are guaranteed. The packages include adapters that convert these cards into standard-size SDHC cards. Compatibility with devices such as the Nintendo Wii, 3DS, DSi, and DSii, is guaranteed. The 4, 8, 16, and 32 GB variants are priced at 2,880 JPY (US $34.6), 3,880 JPY (US $46.7), 8,880 JPY (US $107), and 17,880 JPY (US $215), respectively.

PhotoFast Readies 4-bay MicroSDHC Reader Stick

PhotoFast, known for everything 'flash memory' in the IT world, is ready with an innovative USB stick, only this one is a 4-slot MicroSD and MicroSDHC card reader called the CR-5500. On one of its sides, the four slots tiny slots are located, which allow easy removal of the memory cards. The devices takes data from the four cards and creates a JBOD (just a bunch of disks) volume. Samsung Develops 8GB microSD Memory Card

Samsung Electronics, today announced that it has developed an 8GB microSD (Secure Digital) memory card, a size optimal for today’s multimedia mobile phones. Featuring the highest capacity today for a microSD card, the new fingernail-sized card is capable of storing 2,000 MP3 music files, 4,000 digital photos, or approximately 5 DVD-quality movies. With a read speed of 16MB/s and a write speed of 6MB/s, Samsung’s 8GB microSD card well exceeds the Speed Class 4 SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) standard. Samsung predicts that by 2010, the 8GB memory card will be the market mainstream in terms of units sold.
