CeBIT 2008: Gainward Review

Gainward has a small booth at CeBIT, showing off their newest range of NVIDIA based products. Most of their cards feature different cooling and as it seems, different PCB layout as well. There are several SLI systems up and running. The one pictured here uses two Bliss 8800 GT cards. Gainward also offers a Golden Sample (GS) version of the 8800 GT which uses a more elaborate cooling design with heat-pipes and come pre-overclocked right out of the box.

There are some mainstream cards also on display. Gainward did not mention anywhere what cards are on display, but the one above looks to be a GeForce 8600 GTS with DVI, VGA and HDMI connectors as well as custom cooling. The second card is a passively cooled GeForce 8600 GT.

The GeForce 9600 GT is also on display. The DVI connectors are stacked instead of the usual layout. This makes space for a DisplayPort and HDMI connector. The cooling uses two slots as well and comes with heat-pipes on the Golden Sample version.

The G92 based 8800 GTS and the GeForce 9800 GX2 are on display as well. These are currently reference design with the reference cooler. Gainward actually placed a sticker with a logo unto the fan of the GX2 at a later time, after we took the picture
