A Closer Look

At 134 mm in height, the Enermax ETS-N30 should fit inside a large assortment of cases without issue. However, its small size, three three Ø6 mm heatpipes, and 42 aluminum fins will limit performance.

The small vents and closed-off sides are the main facets of the SEF/VEF technology Enermax utilizes in this cooler. It should improve the design's overall efficiency and helps with performance.

On top, it becomes easier to see the air vents inside these aluminum fins. The vents should help with cooling performance. Enermax has also stamped their name onto each fin. The base or lack thereof is due to HDT, where the heatpipes make direct contact with the processors integrated heat spreader. As can be seen, the base is flat, but does not have a mirror finish and comes with fairly sizable gaps between aluminum block and heatpipes. These gaps could hurt performance as a greater amount of thermal compound is necessary to fill those gaps, which will result in less efficient heat transfer.

Enermax uses a 92 mm x 25 mm fan with model number ED922512H-PA for the ETS-N30. It has a PWM range of 800-2800 RPM. The black plastic clips in the first image above are the quick-connect fan bracket, which makes installing or removing the fan extremely quick and easy. The fan is pretty plain otherwise; however, it does have a braided cable for a nice and clean appearance.
